Gotham Season 2 is around the corner! [Final Review]

Ah! Finally, the wait is over. In a week, the second season of Gotham is going to come out and it’s going to be truly amazing for sure. There are several new characters in the second season and of course the old ones are as they say “gold”.
When I first saw Gotham Season 1, honestly, it felt a little slow to me, like there was something missing from the episodes. Like there was something the writers or the directors forgot to add in the series. But deep down in my heart, I knew this TV series is going to be awesome with all the build up and secrets of many characters and boy I was right. After watching several clips of the upcoming season 2, I’m hyped as anyone can be.

The Joker is taking over!!

The most iconic villain of all the time, “The Prince Clown of Crime” is about to set foot in the Gotham Universe. I’m not bragging when I say this that Cameron Monaghan is an amazing choice for this role. Thanks Bruno Heller!!
For several other characters in the season;
The first being, of course Robin Lord Taylor who has nailed the role of  Oswald Cobblepot “The Penguin” also known as the Gentleman of Crime.
The second being, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma a.K.a. The Riddler.

Third, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle a.K.a. Catwoman or simply “CAT”.

There are few newcomers as well;
Jessica Lucas as Tabitha Galavan a.K.a Tigress and Jes Frain as her brother Theo. Plus, we get the first look at Michael Chiklis’s new character, Barnes.

Gotham WILL descend into chaos as the villains take over. Other enemies like Clayface and Mad Hatter have also been confirmed to appear later in the series.

Bruno Heller also confirmed that Mr. Freeze will be joining Gotham Universe and yes, there will be a back story for him as well. Mr. Freeze began life as Dr. Victor Fries, a cryogenics scientist whose attempts to cure his terminally ill wife Nora end in an accident where he must wear a cryogenic suit in order to stay alive. It’s a tad more complicated than just “a guy who waddles like a penguin,” sure, but we all know that Gotham is a series meant for over-the-top personalities and situations.

Now, in season two, it looks like we’ll be seeing the rise of the villains that made the franchise so brilliant! And the main focus, of course , is going to be Batman’s most-feared nemesis — The Joker!

So many villains and only one guy to fight them? JAMES GORDON!
Well that’s not entirely true.
As we all saw in the season of Gotham, young Bruce Wayne [David Mazous] and Alfred [Sean Pertwee] found a secret hidden door which led to “The Batcave”, there are going to be some serious changes in the season 2 over season 1. Bruce Wayne will learn to develop his dual personality. What’s interesting about the “dual personality” idea in this version of the story, is that if there’s a side of the personality that Bruce Wayne needs to work on, it’s being Bruce Wayne, not Batman. Season 1 clearly showed us a boy who wants to learn to fight, endure pain, and investigate his parents’ death. Thus, for anybody’s who been paying attention knows what Bruce is up to, including many of the people he’s targeting. It sounds like Season 2 will deal more with Bruce realizing that if he wants to be successful in his endeavor, he needs to be able to cover his actions, and make people believe he’s just a kid with too much money.

After a solid Season 1 on Fox we’re looking forward to see where Gotham goes in Season 2. Even considering how many villains we’ve already met, there are still many we have not seen, and others who have not fully completed their transformations. And hey, there’s a batcave to explore.
